What is Soundz80s ?
Soundz80s is music / bands of today that sound like they come from the 80s. Soundz80s also includes 80s artists / bands that have made a comeback.
(secretly, I would love to take these albums back to the 80s and recreate them to see how popular they would be, anyone got a time machine?)
What is 'Soundz80s - Best Of' ?
The Soundz80s 'Best Of', are albums, that are 6 months in the making for each album, so only the 'best of the best' songs go into making this album.
Whats with the album covers ?
Inspired by 'Sigue Sigue Sputnik - Flaunt It' album cover that looked ahead of its time, so do my 'Best of Soundz80s' covers.
The 'Best Of' covers always have a futuristic theme to them, mostly robots, and usually an OBI (sash down the side) as an ode to 'Made in Japan' album covers.
VOLUME 1
Released in 2021, This was the 1st 'Best Of' album with the wicked cover. There was another Volume 1 but we don't talk about that one, it was more of a trial run to see how well the Soundz80s concept would take off. Ok, Ok.. You can find that album

Released in early 2022, 'Volume 2' seen a switch from robot cover to the Cern Hadron Collider in Sweden? (I thought it looked interesting)

VOLUME 3
At the end of 2022, I released Volume 3, still trying to get a feel for what works and what doesnt. Album cover is the outer nebular (space)... not too flashed with this cover but at the time, i thought it look interesting.
The songs are similar to volume 2, with a mix of electronics & rock.. This was my 'I love Alizee' stage, her music is amazing, French yes but bloody amazing (and sexy).. I found her by mistake researching albums by French singer 'Vanessa Paradis' and 'Alizee' came up as a recommendation = Winning

VOLUME 4
Another album released in 2022 ?? Not sure what happened but I also released this album in 2022. Cover is from a T.V show (Tales From The Loop) which is based on various story's from the 70s / 80s but more advanced than the 70s/80s we know, they have robots.. I thought the cover looked futuristic.
A most wicked selection of music on this album except the 'X-Timelord' song (that's me), I now think it sounds crap, The rest is excellent..
I was also inspired about U.K musician 'Georgia', she sings and drums (electronic drums) and I was loving her music which is why she got 2 songs on this album

Back to the 'Robot' theme covers, yay...
Prob one of my fav albums of the series.
Another for 2022 ???, Started to focus on more dance tracks than rock which now sets the theme from now on. I love dance music, it makes me happy, so to create an album with just dance songs means its great for when i go walking, ect, ect..
The Devo (#8 Invisible Man) song was a last minute entry, can't stand the song now, kinda wish i didn't add it.
I also snuck one of my creations in (#18 X-Timelord - By Your Command) a novelty song about a Cylon from Battlestar Galactica

Released in 2023, I love this album cover..
Really started to get into the groove with this album, songs gel well together making it a fun album to listen to. I also snuck 2 rock songs into the mix around the middle of the album to give balance (Night Flight Orchestra / Ghost) & a song in Russian, got no idea what they are saying but i love the song, proving music can span the language barrier.. One of my fav albums
