BOXCAR - VERTIGO (U.S First Issue CD FLAC EX)

Hello and Welcome Back... Back in the late 80s, one of my favorite pastimes was to go visit various record stores around Sydney, NSW.
One of those suburbs was Strathfield, NSW which was also on my way home from work, it had a great record store in the plaza.

This is where I came across this album 'Vertigo'. It was playing on the speakers in the store and I instantly loved the sound.. If you like "New Order" you would like this band. Its one of those albums that is a great listen from start to finish.. Take a Listen

Released in 1989, 'Vertigo' was the 1st studio album by Australian band 'Boxcar' which seen 4 single set free from the album, those being 'Freemason', 'Insect', 'Lelore' & 'Gas Stop'

The album on offer is the Made In U.S first issue CD in FLAC EX format

BOXCAR - VERTIGO/REVIBED (2021)

Hello and Welcome Back... New Album Just Released..

Back in 1989 - 1992, one band was making dance music that i loved... They were kinda like an Australian version of New Order... Why they were not bigger, i will never know.

They were Sydney based band 'Boxcar'

Their debut album called 'Vertigo' was one album i cherished thanks to a record shop in Strathfield, NSW that had the song 'Insect' pumping out the store speakers... I brought the cassette just for that song alone.

What i found was an album chock full of dance driven Synth tracks that not only sounded good but every track was a killer...

3 Singles were released but failed to do anything major in Australia, only the U.S pick up on this amazing sound... Singles were 'Insect', 'Freemason (You Broke Your Promise)'(#8 U.S Dance) & 'Gas Stop'(#82 Australia)

Fast forward to 2021

Today, a new album has dropped called 'Vertigo/Revibed'... Its the 1989 album 'Vertigo' remastered with a few goodies at the end...

I must say, I'm impressed with the sound.... While I usually don't like Remasters because they squeeze the crap out of the sound for the 'loudness' war, but thankfully, not this album... While its still got volume, the synths are crisp & lush and the bass still packs a punch... Outstanding

Its a 10/10 for me...

BOXCAR - LIVE

Hello and welcome back... Boxcar were Australia's answer to New Order, in fact, i thinks some tracks from Boxcar could have been better than New Order (WHAT??)....

Well, they should have been bigger than they were, with tracks like Insect, Freemason and Gas Stop..

These songs kick ass with driving beats, lush guitars and melodic synths.

Have a listen, see what you think...

This video was filmed in 1991 at the Phoenician Club in Sydney, NSW (Australia)

Pump up the volume :)
