This album was once voted the best 80s soundtrack

Released in 1990, the story of a call girl (Julia Roberts) meets businessman (Richard Gere) who can't handle his stick-shift in his flashy car... He then pays her to spend the night but there's no sex?? Whaaat?? Seriously... Yes Michael, she's not that type of call girl..

Moving On...He then proceeds to show her how the rich do things and he falls in love with her... who wouldn't ??, WHO WOULDN'T.. ??

The soundtrack has some banger's including Go West, David Bowie, Roxette and Roy Orbison...

And they all lived happily ever after... No Pre-nup mentioned, just this soundtrack..

The first version of this movie seen Duckie & Andie (Molly's Character) get together in the end (yay) but test subjects hated that..WHAT??... So instead, she ended up with Blaine..Blaine??, Thats not a name, its a major appliance.. But rather than leave Ducky by himself, he ends up with Duckette (Kristy Swanson).. Lucky Ducky. Hahaha

Oh, yeah.. and then there's this killer soundtrack... Sooooo 80s

 Hello and Welcome Back... Its Movie Soundtrack Week.. 

 

Taken from the 1984 movie 'Firestarter' staring a young Drew Barrymore, this soundtrack from 'Tangerine Dream' is moody sweeping synths to make you feel all warm and fuzzy. 

The movie itself is written by Steven King and is about a girl named Charlie (Drew) who has special powers to set things on fire, it's a bit corny in places and fresh from her E.T stint, Drew does a good job at acting the part, but its the music that sets the scene..

My fav would have to be the track 'Charly The Kid'.. Its a moving piece of music & is found about the middle of the movie when Charly and her Dad are on the run from the authority's and they make it to the hideaway...

SUMMER SOUNDZ (Music Download) (2021)

 Hello and Welcome Back... Something for my Soundz80s Readers...

 

I recorded this album (original) back in 2018 but for some  reason never released it... It just sat in my library till a few weeks ago when i was looking for a certain track...

Summer Soundz is a 18 track album that i was listening to when i was working at JB Hi-Fi Penrith, NSW (around 2009 - 2013)... It was a incredible time for music as some really good bands / songs were pumped out of the shop speakers while i pumped out the hours on the shop floor..

Bands like Cut Copy, Pnau, Client Liasion, The Presets, Bag Raiders & more... All would have been huge if released back in the 80s, i recon...

If you have never heard of any of these songs, take a listen... most have a dancy vibe to them as i use most of these songs when i go for my walks (keep off the weight)...

Released in 1975, 'The Best Years of Our Lives' was the 3rd studio album by 'Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel and was the first time Steve Harley put his name at the front as the band was know as 'Cockney Rebel'

The album set free three singles including 'Mr Raffles'(#13 U.K), 'Come Up & See Me (Make Me Smile)'(#1 U.K & Ireland) & 'The Best Years of our Lives'

KEBU - HOPE (2021)

 Hello and Welcome Back... New Music From Kebu

Ive been a big fan of Kebu (Sebastian Teir) since i found a remake of Crockett's Theme (Miami Vice) on Youtube 8 years ago and fell in love his style of music...

He reminds me alot of a modern day 'Jean Michel Jarre'..

This is his new single 'Hope' 

KEBU - HOPE (2021)

 

FROM KEBU...The single is taken from my upcoming studio album "Urban Dreams". 

"Hope" was originally composed for Roland’s product launch event at Abbey Road Studios, where the track was premiered with a live performance. 

Similar to my earlier releases,  the upcoming album – including this track - will consist of a sound universe made only with analog synthesizers and analog drum machines. 

The synths used on "Hope" are also featured in the music video. 

In addition to the original version and a radio edit, the single also contains a sparser drum-less version of the song called the “Dream Version”.

 Hello and Welcome Back... This Time, Country music singer 'Tammy Wynette' makes an Appearance..

Released in 1991, 'Justified & Ancient' first saw light back in 1987 on the 'What the F#ck is Going On' and again in early 1991 on the 'White Room' album...

This version would be the last single release by the KLf..

Track 1 on this CD is sung by Tammy Wynette (Stand by the Jams) where as track 3 is sung by 'Maxine Harvey' (All Bound for Mu Mu Land)...

Released in 1980, 'Double Fantasy' was the 7th album released before Johns Murder... The 4th with Yoko Ono..

The album spawned 3 singles, those being 'Just Like Starting Over'(#1 U.S, U.K. & Australia), 'Women'(#1 U.S, U.K & New Zealand) & 'Watching the Wheels'(#3 Canada)

Also on this album is the track 'Beautiful Boy' which John wrote for his son Sean... It always brings a tear to my eye, its one of my fav John Lennon songs

THE KLF / THE TIMELORDS - DOCTORIN' THE TARDIS (FLAC CD Single)

 Hello and Welcome Back... This is Wicked, One of my Favs

 

The KLF / The Timelords released this epic single in 1988. It was a novelty single that seen the Dr Who Theme blended with Gary Glitter's single 'Rock & Roll' & The Sweet's 'Blockbuster' and was a slap in the face to record company's, that anyone can have a #1 record.. KLF Style

The single 'Doctorin the Tardis' did make it to #1 un the U.K & New Zealand... #2 in Australia & #16 U.S Dance charts

Not bad, for what the KLF described as 'the most nauseating record in the world'
