Your probably wondering what i mean..
Let me explain.. So80s started as a good idea, 'Its All About The Sound Quality' claims 'Blank & Jones' curators & creators of the 'So80s' music collection.
Not satisfied with just using Vinyl 12" inch records, Blank & Jones spent massive amounts of time and money chasing the original master tapes of various 80s tracks, some extremely rare..
In this theory, these albums should sound amazing right?
No, they went about remastering the songs to an inch of their life, brick-walled each track so the listener, by the time they were finished listening to the album, there ears started bleeding (hypothetical)
** Technical Note **
The term 'Brick-Walled' is in music terms death to a song. The song is mastered to an extent that the overall volume / frequencies of the song is smashed into the wall of a soundscape.
To the listener, the song will sound 'Loud' to the point that your ears get fatigued and probably end up with a headache if listening up loud.. All natural acoustics that make up a song are lost.. RIP
And so brings us to this album..
Released in 2009, 'So80s Vol 1' is a 3 CD compilation of various popular 12" inch tracks curated and compiled by German musicians 'Blank & Jones'
The album on offer is the German 3CD in FLAC EX Format... In the natural process that i do with my FLAC EX format, the volume has been lowered to a level that i enjoy and yes, i now have a headache..
So80s Vol 1 was re-released 2 years later (2011) with proper mastering..
A costly mistake... 'Its All About the Sound' Indeed...
CD 1 is a Mix, CD 2 & 3 are individual songs
