Hello and Welcome Back.. This Album Formed a Gateway to the 80s in Regards to Sound.
For those that don't know, the song 'Mama' (#1) is what started the
whole 80s 'Gated Reverb' Drum Sound which was found by accident while
messing around with a Linn Drum Machine (LM-1).
Mike Rutherford fed the Drum Machine output through a Reverb (technique that combines strong reverb and a noise gate that cuts the tail of the reverb) and an Amplifier and the rest, as they say, is history. Even today, this effect is still used.
Released in 1983, 'Genesis' was the 12th studio album by U.K band 'Genesis' which seen 5 singles flower from the album, those being 'That's All', 'Home By The Sea', 'Illegal Alien', 'Taking It All Too Hard' & 'Mama'

Hello and Welcome Back.. Technically, This Album Does Not Exist, Well, Not In This Timeline..
The story goes that a man names 'James Richards' who, in 2009, was traveling to 'Del Puerto Canyon' in the U.S. He was chasing his dog, fell over and knocked himself out. When he came to, he found himself in a room that belonged to a guy called 'Jonas' who claimed he was from a Parallel Earth. His machine was called an 'ARP-D'
So, James and Jonas became chums and began discussing various things including the love of music. Turns out Jonas was an avid Beatles fan and had just seen them in concert a few days earlier.. all of them, you see, in this parallel world, all the Beatles are alive and are still together as a band.
Before James came back to this reality, he managed to grab a Mixtape that was in Jonas's collection and this is a copy of what was on the cassette..

ULTRAVOX - THE COLLECTION (Inc Bonus Album) (West Germany 'Solid' (U.K) First Issue CD FLAC EX )
Hello and Welcome Back.. One of my most Fav albums of the 80s.
I owned 2 versions of this album, one on Audio Cassette and the other on Plum coloured Vinyl which included a bonus LP containing 6 bonus 12" inch tracks.
I have recreated this bonus album using various CDs and have included it in today's download.. Enjoy
Released in 1984, 'The Collection' was a compilation album showcasing various popular tracks by U.K band 'Ultravox'
One memory of this album was when i was working at a Shell service station in Campbelltown, NSW around 1987. It was a hot summers day and this wicked lime green Holden Torana SLR V8 came grumbling in and guess what was in the Alpine cassette deck?.. A copy of this album with the track 'The Thin Wall' playing loudly, echoing under service station roof.. It was a surreal experience...
