Hello and Welcome Back... One of my Fav Devo Albums, This album made Devo from Nerdy Geeks to Pioneer Electronic Superstars. 

 

Released in 1980, 'Freedom Of Choice' was the 3rd studio album by U.S outfit 'Devo' which flowered 4 singles, those being 'Whip It', 'Girl U Want', 'Freedom of Choice' & 'Gates of Steel'.. Kudos to track #4 'Snowball'.. Should have been a single..

Listening to my radio back in the 80s on 2SM ( Rock of the 80s ) (Sydney, Australia) they played the main song "Whip It" heaps... to say it was popular would be a under statement... BUT, what the hell were they wearing on their heads ?

Everybody thought they were flowerpots upside down but they were in fact power cones or energy domes to capture energy escaping from their heads... ( err.. ok, they were flowerpots :) ) but it captured everyone's attention.. Clever Marketing.

LACK OF POSTS

 Hello and Welcome Back.. You may have noticed a lack of posts this week, that is due to an incident on Saturday night (just passed) where i came close to losing my wife..

My wife Kay, had a abscess on one of her back molars and got some heavy antibiotics for that, only it was too strong and she ended up having a allergic reaction which left her gasping for breath around 11.30pm.. We rang for an ambulance and i'm glad it came when it did because i don't think she would have been able to keep going as each breath gasp hit her with a shot of pain in the chest and stomach..

I'm forever grateful for my 2 sons who stayed with her, i was a mess.. i could do nothing but watch her gasp for air like a fish out of water. My youngest son Daniel stayed calm and collected (he's studying to be a nurse / paramedic) and my other son Benjamin drove to the hospital following the ambulance and stayed with her all night.. Thank You Boys xxx

Me, i was struggling with anxiety / panic attacks that i get when i'm tired and run down (emotionally) thanks to a HSV2 Blood Infection and felt f#cking useless..

My wife is still very dizzy and lacking energy so i'm picking up the slack, as i should..

My posts might be a bit all over the place for a bit while things go back to normal..

What makes this album stand out for me is the various 1994 versions of various songs that mix it up a bit... '94' Versions of songs 'True Faith', '1963', 'Bizarre Love Triangle' & 'Round & Round'

Also this album has the track 'World in Motion' (#16) which was New Order's only #1 (U.K Single Chart) song & includes the 1990 English Football Team on backup vocals. This song is not found on any other compilation that i know of... 

This album also has the 1988 version of 'Blue Monday'

 Hello and Welcome Back.. When Prince sang the song 'Controversy' it could have been about this band. 

The rise and fall of Milli Vanilli captured the media's attention worldwide in late 1988.. To me, I didn't really care who sang the the songs , it was just good catchy dance music. 

Sad thing was, the two frontmen of Milli Vanilli (Fabrice Morvan and Rob Pilatus) could actually sing meanwhile, their manager who constructed the whole thing (Frank Farian) went and hid while the two singers copped all the abuse..

 

Released in 1989, 'All Or Nothing - The U.S Remix Album' was a compilation of various remixed songs by German outfit 'Milli Vanilli'.. 

I loved this album when it came out, brought it on audio cassette and would listen to it continuously.. There is a good blend of ballads / dance tracks to keep the album flowing along...

Sadly in 1998 'Rob Pilatus' passed away...

Sounds amazing on a good set of cans (headphones).. Most 'Moist'

Released in 1988, 'Underneath The Radar' was the 1st studio album by U.K band 'Underworld' (Ex Freur) which seen only 1 single released which was 'Underneath The Radar' 

Kudos to tracks #3 'Rubber Ball', #7 'I Need a Doctor' & #8 'Bright White Flame' all should have been singles... 

Album was produced by 'Rupert Hine'

Here in Australia, the song 'I Need a Doctor' was used for 'Wide World of Sports' TV program while replaying various sports accidents..

The album on offer is the Made in Germany for Europe First Issue CD in FLAC EX Format...
