This album was also given away with Hot Metal Magazine circ 1990
This version is CD Quality, nearly all songs are from various CDs, Remastered / Auto-leveled so it sounds 'Heavy Man'
The only difference will be some songs are 'Album' versions and not
'radio' versions.
Radio versions were shorter to make them fit on the
album.
Also Note, older albums sometimes have Vinyl
mastered singles to CD on rare occasions, It was how the record
company's brought out some CDs.

Released in 1985, 'Stairway to Heaven' by U.K band Far Corporation was a rework of the famous track by Led Zepplin but with a twist...
Halfway into the 9min song, Drums suddenly become very 'Phil Collins' sounding, 'Big' is probably the word i would use, meanwhile members of Toto & Barclay Jame Harvest fill the rest with various Guitars, Synths, Angelic Voices and Vocals that sound Realllly Goood...
The man behind the sound is Frank Farian (Boney M, Milli Vanilli)
This track has a real huge stadium sound and sounds amazing on a good set of headphones
Stairway to Heaven was track one on the album 'Division One'
Far Corporation was a shorten version of 'Frank Farian Corporation'

On a Personal note..We are still surrounded by fire. Its calmed down at the moment.
The Northerly winds that were predicted, that i wrote about on the last post came late, so just as it was taking hold, the southerly kicked in...Sadly that fire has consumed the towns of Bilpin (about 1hour north of me) and Lithgow (about 2 hours west of me)... Each day, i check on the map and each day it edges closer..
Fingers crossed it rains and the firies can get a hold of it...

A few posts back, I was writing about some Tapes and Discs i had found while looking for a album Cover... This is one of the Tapes
I made this Mixtape in the early 90s.
For me, the early 90s was a difficult / fun / scary / sad time.
My Grandfather had a series of heart attacks.
I left home for the first time and moved in with my then girlfriend.
Her name was Jodie Horne. She was a fun, exciting, gorgeous girl and i often asked myself "whats she doing with a guy like me"?..
It was around this time Roxette released their album 'Joyride' and for me, life was a joyride for a while.
Sadly it ended with said girlfriend, a mix of self doubt & trust issues. We were together for nearly 1.5 years?
After splitting with said girlfriend, i was living in my car for a while and moved once again, closer to where i was working at the time.
Found a awesome granny flat to live in..
Grandfather passed away..
As i sat in my car one afternoon, listening to this tape, tears streaming down my face, thinking how I lost my girlfriend, my Grandfather & my Family (they didn't want to talk to me at the time), I wondered what was to become of my life...
I then asked a friend to move into said granny-flat. She was to become my future wife.
Things Will Never Be The Same....
Remastering this album was difficult to say the least, not only the memories of that period in time but the recent passing of lead singer "Marie Fredriksson"..
There were a few tears shed..

It hit the #1 spot soon after (U.S Billboard Charts). #6 U.K & #19 Australia
The album contains 2 massive hits, those being 'Broken Wings' & 'Kyrie' which also kissed the #1 spot on the U.S singles charts. The other single, 'Is It Love' made it to #8 in the U.S

Not very electronic but this track reminds me a little, of the band 'U.K Squeeze'... Very crafty lyrics that tell an actual story.
The Kinks (also a U.K Band) released this song back in 1982 and was from the 1983 album 'State of Confusion'
The song was inspired by memories of the singers older sister, Rene, who
died of a heart attack while dancing at a dance hall.
The lyrics, sung
from the perspective of an "East End barrow boy," are about the boy's sister going on dates at a local Palais dance hall.

Lead singer of the 70s / 80s band 'The Cars' has died.
Ric Ocasek (Richard Theodore Otcasek) was the lead singer for most of the bands history which started around 1976 with Benjamin Orr (dec) swapping vocal duties
One of the Best 80s albums (in my opinion) was Rics 1986 solo album 'This Side of Paradise' which spawned the hit 'Emotion in Motion'.
The other excellent albums that are similar are 'The Cars - Heartbeat City'
& Benjamin Orr - The Lace
All are highly recommended albums...
Ric was an amazing singer/ music producer/ musician. He was only 75 years young.

CASSETTE - A DOCUMENTARY MIXTAPE
For me personally, i grew up with audio tapes.
Probably the best thing i can say about tapes (apart from sound) is depending what type of tape you used, depended on the type of sound you got or the amount of detail the tape reproduced.
The choice was staggering, you had TDK, BASF, Fuji, Sony, Maxell, AGFA, Memorex, Phillips, Technics, Scotch and Thats / Triad to name a few
My Favorites were 'Thats', Sony & TDK
Then you had a choice of Normal, Chrome and Metal, so again the sound changed from standard to very detailed depending on the type of tape you brought.
For me, my number one choice was 'Thats' Chrome Cassette's, seriously, the sound from these tapes were mind blowing, so good. (see below)
The only problem at the moment is the lack of Cassette Decks.
You can buy decks that are 20-40 years old, Made in Japan but parts failing (mostly rubber belts) or new decks made in China, no Chrome / Metal position selection and No Dolby... and bloody expensive for what they are...
Although, i still have a decent cassette collection, i will stick to my CD's, with less working parts and decent sound, i will wait for the day when the faithful Audio Tape makes a full comeback ...
This is the 1986 album by U.K outfit "Vicious Pink".
The two member's of Vicious Pink are Josephine Warden & Brian Moss (They were backing singers for the band Soft Cell (think 'Tainted Love'))
The album had several singles to its name, Those being "CCCant You See (#67 U.K Singles)", Fetish & Spooky (#87 U.K singles)
The single CCCant You See was big in Night Clubs and is a wicked song...

Released in 1984, 'Cccant You See' (#67 U.K) was a single from U.K band 'Vicious Pink' and can be found on the album with the same name (album coming shortly)
The same tune can be found on Track 4 called 'Blue', its interesting to hear the same tune but on two different songs.

Other tracks of interest, that sadly did not see singles status was 'Voices in my Head' & 'Emotion in Motion', both excellent songs that do the album justice.
