THE MAVIS'S - PINK PILLS (Australia First Issue CD FLAC EX) (Soundz80s)

 Hello and Welcome Back... This album came out at a pivotal time in my life.. Got some 'Moist' tracks to boot..

 

Released in 1998, 'Pink Pills' was the 2nd studio album by Australian band 'The Mavis's' which seen 4 singles pop from the album (see what i did there :)), those being 'Cry', 'Lever', Naughty Boy' & 'Puberty Song'

This album came out the same year as my daughter was born. 

It was also around this time i had a change of career as working 14/16hr a day then driving 1.5 hours home was doing my head in, so i was lucky to find a job in the same suburb i lived in, great for work/home life... not good when you want to chuck a sickie hahahha.

So i said goodbye to 'Bing Lee St Marys' and hello Retravision Springwood. Retravision was a big change as the Bing Lee store in St Marys was huge corner block with 2 levels to transitioning to a tiny shop that was stuffed with electronics and you couldn't hardly move without knocking something over.. but it was fun and a great learning curb. 

We had Foxtel in the little store and was set to the music channel which was excellent and the song by 'The Mavis's - Cry' caught my ear and the rest is history...

My daughter was born on Feb 28th 1998 and is now 25yo and a flight attendant for REX (Regional Express) Airlines... I was told i couln't have kids thanks to my bike accident, thankfully im now blessed with 4 wonderful kids (3 boys, 1 girl).. my youngest is now 18... and the best thing? My daughter is the splitting image of me only female (and younger) obviously..

I do miss the simpler times working at the little store, as my ex-boss at the time 'Ian' used to say, 'A Hard Days Work for A Hard Days Pay'...He was from Northern England and an excellent boss. Listening to this album bring back the happy memories.
