TALKING HEADS – SPEAKING IN TONGUES (Japan 'Target' First Issue CD FLAC EX)

Hello and Welcome Back.. Wow, I Remember This Album..

Released in 1983, 'Speaking In Tongues' was the 5th studio album by U.S Band 'Talking Heads' which seen 2 singles spawn from the album, those being 'Burning Down The House' & 'This Must Be The Place'

Kudos to the tracks #3 'Girlfriend Is Better' & #4 'Slippery People'... should have been singles..

The reason why i remember this album was when i left school, my second job i did (after Venture) was working at the local Shell service station in Campbelltown, NSW doing driveway duties, helping the mechanics, etc, etc..

One of the mechanics was a mad Talking Heads fan who drove a little yellow Suzuki Mightyboy, i though it was wicked, so small but so fast (i was used to walking) but he said no, the little bearings in the tiny wheels were likely to fly past us at any second...

Sadly, while the mechanic was on his first week, he was guiding a car down on a hoist, when at the last few inches, the hoist would drop suddenly like it had run out of fluid and slam onto the ground..

I was standing next to the mechanic walking past when the hoist did this and i heard a yell.. The mechanic quickly jumped up and was white as a ghost.. 'Ive Lost My Finger' he said to me..

I was like 'What??'.. instinct told me to grab the control and push the up button, and sure enough, the mechanics thumb was on the floor, flat as a pancake (looked like leather).. i nearly threw up as shock set in.. i yelled for the manager 'Basil' and he took him to the hospital.. He lost his thumb..
