BLACK TRIANGLE CDs - Are They Like The Bermuda Triangle, Only Darker?

Hello and Welcome Back... After focusing on West German 'Target' First Issue CDs last week (See Here), i thought i would switch country's and take a look at Japanese 'Black Triangle' CDs..

So, What Are Black Triangle CDs?

A Black Triangle CD (Above)

Black Triangle CDs are often First Issue CDs made by Toshiba / EMI (sometimes by Sony/CBS/CSR) in Japan and are highly collectable.

I say 'often' because you can get different variables on the Triangle. The most popular is Black, but there are also Blue & Green Triangle's as well.. Not sure, but the colour change may be 2nd or 3rd pressings?..also you can sometimes get the black triangle on 2nd issue CDs.

Being first issue CDs means they are collectable. The sound quality is excellent with some collectors saying 'Its the Best They Have Heard' from a CD. There are some collectors who also say,  'they sound too bright' and prefer the 2nd or 3rd generation where the have been mastered a little..

So, i thought, lets take a listen and judge for ourselves..

So, this week on Electronic80s, i will feature some of my Japan 'Black Triangle' CDs from my collection..

Enjoy

P.S The Black Triangle CD has nothing to do with the Bermuda Triangle but sometimes my CDs go missing and i wonder if i'm living in the Blue Mountains Triangle...

I can nether confirm or deny that the two are connected..
