This is Volume 2..
During the early 80s, I spent my time, when I could, recording various mix-tapes which I later found around 2018 while cleaning out some stuff in a shoe-box
So I decided to re-record these old tapes using various CDs while reminiscing about my life when the tapes were made.
Each tape tells a story about what was happening in my life as a young boy growing up in Campbelltown, South West of Sydney in Australia in the 80s
This was the second tape in 1981 I recorded. I stole
borrowed one of my Dads tapes and using a bit of sticky tape, I
re-recorded over it (sorry Dad). Most of the songs that I recorded on
this tape was from my Dads music collection as most radios in 1981 were
still in Mono unless you were rich and could afford a stereo tuner as
only 2 stations broadcast in stereo, which were Triple M & 2 Day FM.

Actually, I was 11, and the only good things in my life was my cat
'Tikka'
(pic below) and escaping to the next door neighbors, who's swimming pool
I would frequently jump into, often climbing out my bedroom window much
to the disgust of my
little sister who had locked all the doors to keep me in.
I was in Year 5 in Primary School and life was shit...
Bullied by asshole's (funnily enough, who now want to be Facebook friends with me... go figure), nasty teachers that didn't get that i just couldn't sit still for 2 hours in some crappy assembly, off to the principles office again... sadly it was a vicious cycle.
The one thing that had to keep my sanity, was my dads love for music... Some of the music was really good and for Christmas, I got a gift of music. (Thanks Mum/Dad)
A few years earlier, I had got for Christmas, a Panasonic shoe-box tape recorder and two tapes, one tape was the best of 'The Animals' (think 'House of Rising Sun').
The second tape was one that changed my life. It was a synthesizer album called 'The Electronic System' by a bloke called 'Dan Lacksman' who in the 80s, became the man behind the outfit 'Telex' (think 'Moskow Diskow' & 'Twist a Saint Tropez')
The Electronic System opened my eyes and ears to Synthesizers and was a main inspiration to create this website.. Electronic80s
That's right folks, amongst the tears, regular beatings, wanting to escape from life...This website is built on a simple cassette tape that started around 1978 & continued into the 80s..
My escape listening to that electronic tape took away all the crap..for a little while..
Moving On
Like I said, my Dad had a pretty good taste in music and while he was at
work, (he was a Train Driver) I created this Mix-tape from an old tape he didn't need (well he
didn't notice it missing.. I Think)
