On a sadder note, this was probably one of the most hardest albums Ive ever had to make.
During compilation / recording of this album, 'Nanny', as i affectionately called her, came to live with us. She had been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer only months previously and was going downhill fast. Sadly last Wednesday, she passed away.
I watched her take her last breath as she was sleeping soundly.
It was very peaceful and for a moment, it was like time had stood still for 4-5sec. The buzzers in the corridor outside her room in the hospital stopped, the tweeting birds outside stopped, even the ringing in my ears stopped. It was a very surreal experience..
I will miss her amazing smile. The way she would listen to what you had to say no matter how mundane or trivial, she would offer advice in her 'English' sense of humor (She was born in the U.K)
Her funeral was yesterday..
I would like to dedicate song #7 'Lex Hoenstok - Wuthering Heights' in her memory as it took many, many times for me to get this track sounding right before i would burst into tears..
