N.W.A - STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON (U.S First Issue CD FLAC EX)

Released in 1988, 'Straight Outta Compton' was the 1st studio album by U.S outfit 'N.W.A' (Niggaz With Attitudes) which seen 4 singles spawn from the album, those being 'F#ck Tha Police', 'Straight Outta Compton', 'Gangsta Gangsta' & 'Express Yourself'

I stumbled across this album just after i was released from hospital after my Bike Accident and was in two minds. I have read that when people who cheat death (I did, twice), it leaves you feeling different , like your a different person, as if your soul got switched... This is what i felt.

I had two sides, a destructive side and an angry side.. 

Before the accident, i was the nicest person you could ever meet but afterwards, it was like I was afraid of the world.. The destructive side of me seen that i could cheat death and nothing could stop me. At one stage, i got so sick of the pain my body was pumping out that I took 4 Panadine Forte (1 tab = 30mg Codeine + 500mg of Paracetamol) (at once) but an hour later, decided it wasn't working and took another 4.. As luck would have it, i finished early and headed for the train station.. I had about 1 hour to wait for my train so i headed to Strathfield Park (NSW) opposite Platform 9 (Pub) and laid down as I was starting to feel sick... I woke up 6 hours later with a smashing headache and realized that what i had done was plain stupid.. I also missed my train.

The angry side of me was what got me hooked on this album. I was angry that I was in so much pain, angry that I couldn't go back to the way i was.. fit, full of energy, and happy go lucky kind of guy.. instead i was this shell of a person and was left to 'deal with it' on my own... I wanted to smash things, break things because that's how i felt.. Broken

Listening to this album made me feel bad ass and angry with the world...

Moving on 30+ years, i have learned to live with what i have. I now have a family when doctors at the time said it wasn't possible because of the damage done to my pelvis and other 'bits' and Yes, my daughter is the spitting image of me when i was younger..
