Hello and Welcome Back... Sad News with the Death of Greek Music Composer / Musician 'Vangelis' (Real Name - Evángelos Odysséas Papathanassíou)
I grew up with the sounds of Vangelis from my dad, who would blast 'Chariots of Fire' theme and 'Jon & Vangelis - Find My Way Home' throughout the early 80s on his stereo system...
This is one of the reasons i love synthesizers so much, with rich layers of sounds, neatly composed between the scores of rock songs plastered over the radio, because this was Australia, home to pub rock, so it was a treat to hear sonic sounds from various synths, that made me (as a young man), sit up and go..WOW
Such an effect on me, i would practice the drum 'tap tap tap' sound of Chariots of Fire in maths class using my metal ruler.. to the dismay of my maths teacher.. Hey, my timing was spot on..
Vangelis was only 79 Years Young, Thank You for the Music
