Well, they should have been bigger than they were, with tracks like Insect, Freemason and Gas Stop..
These songs kick ass with driving beats, lush guitars and melodic synths.
Have a listen, see what you think...
This video was filmed in 1991 at the Phoenician Club in Sydney, NSW (Australia)

FUTURE WORLD ORCHESTRA - I'M NOT AFRAID OF THE FUTURE
Hello and welcome back....
Who's afraid of the future?.... Not these guys, well, that was back in 1982.
From the dutch Synth group 'Future World Orchestra' came this trippy little number called 'I'm not afraid of the Future' which was released in 1982... It made it to No 26 in the top 40 music charts.
I'm not afraid of the Future was from the album 'Mission Completed' by Dureco Benelux records.
Future World Orchestra used a number of Synthesizers in their music including the Arp2600, Korg-3100, Korg-MS20, Polymoog & the Arp Sequencer.
They were inspired by bands like Genesis, Emerson, Lake and Palmer and Yes.
Enjoy some rare early Synth from Future World Orchestra...

DAVID BOWIE - DEAD AT 69
Hello and welcome back for another year...
Starts with a sad note with the death of music icon 'David Bowie' who passed away on 10th January 2016 from liver cancer
The master of re-invention was diagnosed 18 months ago but managed to keep it a secret from fans which shocked many (including me) with the news of his death.
The impact of what David Bowie had on the music industry was huge, actually, that's a understatement.
The influence on many guitarists, synth players, or any musician of the 70/80s nearly all stated they were influenced by non other than David Bowie.
The early 80s New Romantic / New Wave movement was one of the most influenced, not just by his music but also his fashion sense and the uncanny knack of being able to 'look to the future / look like the future'
On a personal note, I was particularly fond of Bowie's 1983 album 'Lets Dance' which spawned the tracks China Girl, Modern Love & Lets Dance.
Summer, 1983, lounging besides the swimming pool at my girlfriends place listening to radio station 2SM (Rock of the 80s) with Bowie's 'Modern Love' pumping from the speakers.... Life was such an amazing feeling back then, something i will never forget.
Such a sad loss...

THE COOL NOTES - HOUSE OF LOVE
Hello and welcome back... I found it!!! After 25 year of searching for this particular song, i finally found it.... Let me explain.
In 1989 i had a car accident and was recovering in hospital for 4 months so i had a lot of time to listen to the radio, catch up on daytime soaps.. ect.
An album that came my way was called '1989 Hot House Hits' and had a collection of various dance tracks... it was a pretty good album. Fast forward a year my tape got stuck in a tape deck and it was lost forever.
Trying to track down a song that all i could remember was a guy saying 'This aught to be a song'.. that was it, even google couldn't find it UNTIL...
Yesterday while searching for some old tapes on Ebay, i recognized the album cover and thought 'That looks familiar'.. it was my beloved album and the 25year search was over.
Released on Public Records in 1988, The Cool Notes were a U.K band (south London).
The track 'House of Love' was a single/ 12" only as well as B side to the track 'Magic Lover.. doesn't seem to be on any albums that i can find.
Such an awesome song, so glad i found it...

RENE & YVETTE (Allo Allo) - JE T'AIME...MOI NON PLUS
Hello and welcome back....
Being a huge fan of the 80s British sitcom 'Allo Allo', I was surprised that i didn't know about this track from 1986 called 'Je T'Aime.. Moi Non Plus'.
Gordon Kaye (Rene) and Vicky Michelle (Yvette) sing their love for each other in this, sometimes painful, rendition of a 1969 love song, originally sang by Jane Birkin & Serge Gainsbourg.
Released on Vinyl thru Sedition records in the U.K (Accord records in France), the B side was a rap song called 'Rene D.M.C. (Devastating Macho Charisma).... no words needed, it was pretty bad.

WALKMANS THAT IVE OWNED
Hello and welcome back.... My love of the Walkman (Personal Cassette Player).
I miss the Walkman.
Throughout the middle 80s till early 90s i was madly in love with my Walkman. I had several through the years. The best one was a Anniversary model from AIWA that was made in Japan.
It cost me a small fortune (around $800), for someone who pumped petrol for a living, it took a while to save up (about 6 months).
You could buy a gold model or a black model. I chose black because as i didn't want to get mugged (gold looked too flashy)
This thing was the ducks nuts of Walkmans, auto reverse, record from radio or built in mic (or plug in), all metal construction, amorphous head and leather case.
You could tell some serious work went into the design and build of these units from Japan.
As you can see from the pics above, they were a real work of art. This little walkman went everywhere with me.... Until, I was hit by a car going 80kmph early one morning on my way to work.
Sadly, i never seen it again. While i was laying on the road, dying (i died twice), bleeding internally, pelvis broken in 4 places.... Some shithead (excuse the french) stole my most prized possession. It was gone.
I had several since but none was the same as this model. I preferred AIWA over Sony units, the sound quality seemed better.
I owned several Sony, Phillips, Panasonic models but always went back to the AIWA models.
Their was something about Walkmans, they sounded amazing and looked amazing. The good ones played Normal, Chrome (my fav) and Metal tapes with a selection of 60, 90 or 120 mins to listen to. I usually used 60 min tapes because i found that the 90 or 120 min tapes would put too much stress on the motors / rubber bands.
You had to listen to the whole tape. Sure you could FF (Fast Forward) but you never really knew where you would end up, but you didn't mind because it sounded so good.
The auto-reverse was wicked. Finished one side and like magic would turn to the other side.
You could interact with your Walkman.... You could...
listen to the radio, preset channels for later use.
Change bias from Normal, Chrome and Metal / Dolby to hear the difference.
Add extra bass at the push of a button.
Fall asleep using the timer function to the sounds of Milli Vanilli,
Wake to the sounds of Milli Vanilli using the alarm function.
It was like your best friend.
I will put a few pics below of some of the various Walkmans i owned (that i can remember)
Lets hope in the near future, someone will bring back the Walkman... And hopefully will put some effort into it.
You can get a Walkman style tape player for around $49 dollars at the moment but its very basic. No auto reverse, no bias settings just a USB out for its claim to fame. Still its a start.
Vinyl Records are making a comeback so fingers (and legs) crossed.
Some Walkman's Ive owned and loved over the years.....
P.S Massive thanks to website Walkman-Archive.com for the memories / pics of these amazing units.

MUSIC DOWNLOAD NOT WORKING
Hello and welcome back... Just a quick post to let you know that some of the music downloads are no longer active.
I was using Spreaker to host the downloads but i have been put back to 20 hours of airtime because i fail to upgrade, which is fair enough, but i just can't afford it... That's life
The ones i left behind are the bigger ones (ones with the most downloads).
The music downloads are on the right hand side of the page under 'Music Downloads' and i will slowly start taking the links off the page that are no longer active.
Cheers
Michael

DREAM SEQUENCE - TAKE ME (Sounds like the 80s)
Hello and welcome back.... Awesome new track for Australian music producer DREAM SEQUENCE
Called 'Take Me' the track mix's sweet sounding synths, lush choir/strings and a hint of Acid. For those who are wondering... What is Acid?
The Acid sound was heard in the late 80s House scene and is produced by tweaking a Roland 303 Bass synth.
Its a fairly distinctive sound and one that Dream Sequence uses in his music often...
Take a listen, see what you think..

Hello and welcome back... New wave meets Industrial kind of sums up the outfit 'Fad Gadget'.
Fad Gadget is from the U.K and is the work of one person (Francis (Frank) John Tovey).
Fad Gadget blended industrial sound into his early work such as electric drills and razors, then added early synths and dark undertone lyrics to the mix.... Sort of early Depeche Mode only ...Darker
Sadly the man behind the name Fad Gadget (Frank Tovey) died back in 2002 at the age of 45 (Heart Attack)... He was working on a new album at the time of his death... R.I.P.
For me, I hadn't really gotten into Fad Gadgets music, i had heard of the name but it wasn't until a friend of mine introduced me to this track, i became hooked... Its Raw, Electronic and Moody...
Love it.
