ROXY MUSIC - ROXY MUSIC (1972)

Hello and Welcome Back.... The First Album by U.K Band 'Roxy Music'

Released in 1972, 'Roxy Music' (The Album) was a collection of Art Rock, Glam & Experimental songs that would slowly set the scene for what was to come in the late 70s / early 80s.

Ask any band of the 'New Romantic' era or 'New Wave' era what was there inspiration for their sound... More often than not, it would be one of two answers.... 'David Bowie' or 'Roxy Music'

You only have to listen to track #4 'Virginia Plain' with its squelching synth sounds, this was never heard of back in 1972... not in mainstream music at the time and was a real head-turner..

Take a Listen to when it all began for a young English dude called 'Bryan Ferry' and his musician mates who later, dedicated this album to a girl named 'Susie' who auditioned to become their drummer...

BTW, the model on the cover was 'Kari-Ann Muller', and no, she didn't date Brian Ferry like many others after her, who made it to record cover status...

The Synth used towards the end is a EMS VCS-3 played by 'Brian Eno'
