Hello and welcome back....
Who's afraid of the future?.... Not these guys, well, that was back in 1982.
From the dutch Synth group 'Future World Orchestra' came this trippy little number called 'I'm not afraid of the Future' which was released in 1982... It made it to No 26 in the top 40 music charts.
I'm not afraid of the Future was from the album 'Mission Completed' by Dureco Benelux records.
Future World Orchestra used a number of Synthesizers in their music including the Arp2600, Korg-3100, Korg-MS20, Polymoog & the Arp Sequencer.
They were inspired by bands like Genesis, Emerson, Lake and Palmer and Yes.
Enjoy some rare early Synth from Future World Orchestra...

DAVID BOWIE - DEAD AT 69
Hello and welcome back for another year...
Starts with a sad note with the death of music icon 'David Bowie' who passed away on 10th January 2016 from liver cancer
The master of re-invention was diagnosed 18 months ago but managed to keep it a secret from fans which shocked many (including me) with the news of his death.
The impact of what David Bowie had on the music industry was huge, actually, that's a understatement.
The influence on many guitarists, synth players, or any musician of the 70/80s nearly all stated they were influenced by non other than David Bowie.
The early 80s New Romantic / New Wave movement was one of the most influenced, not just by his music but also his fashion sense and the uncanny knack of being able to 'look to the future / look like the future'
On a personal note, I was particularly fond of Bowie's 1983 album 'Lets Dance' which spawned the tracks China Girl, Modern Love & Lets Dance.
Summer, 1983, lounging besides the swimming pool at my girlfriends place listening to radio station 2SM (Rock of the 80s) with Bowie's 'Modern Love' pumping from the speakers.... Life was such an amazing feeling back then, something i will never forget.
Such a sad loss...
R.I.P David Bowie (David Robert Jones)
