Hello and Welcome Back... Led Zeppelin meets Phil Collins, Toto & Barclay James Harvest

Released in 1985, 'Stairway to Heaven' by U.K band Far Corporation was a rework of the famous track by Led Zepplin but with a twist...

Halfway into the 9min song, Drums suddenly become very 'Phil Collins' sounding, 'Big' is probably the word i would use, meanwhile members of Toto & Barclay Jame Harvest fill the rest with various Guitars, Synths, Angelic Voices and Vocals that sound Realllly Goood...

 The man behind the sound is Frank Farian (Boney M, Milli Vanilli)

This track has a real huge stadium sound and sounds amazing on a good set of headphones

Stairway to Heaven was track one on the album 'Division One'

Far Corporation was a shorten version of  'Frank Farian Corporation'

NEX-GEN REMASTERS

Hello and Welcome Back... A Little Info

You may have noticed that previous posts of albums have the banner "Nex-Gen Remaster"

But, What Does that Mean??

Well, for me, it tells me thats its a new way of remastering that i have created. I am now able to remaster music keeping alot more information / sounds than previous.

Strangely enough, i tried this technique before but failed due to a setting being wrong, but now im very happy with the results. So from now on, if you see this =

Then you can expect excellent sound quality...

So i decided to put a name to my way of remastering so that i know (and you guys out there) that its the new way of doing things...
Also another way (in the recording process) is in the labeling if Remastered..
The two dots at the end of Remastering also tells me that its going to sound great.. Hopefully :)

Sometimes, though, it doesnt work as with the next album im going to post (Radiators)..
In the previous post (1988 - Hit Pix), I used a certain process that keeps the sound at a certain level when recording but with the Radiators album that's coming up, this didn't sound good... I kinda lost its 'Mojo' so to speak, so i left the last stage of remastering out and 'wacko', it sounds nice and punchy...

This album is a Nex-Gen Remaster

This version is CD Quality, nearly all songs are from various CDs, Remastered / Auto-leveled so it sounds 'Brill'

1982 - LOST HITS MIXTAPE (Remastered)

Hello and Welcome Back... Last One in my Mixtape Series

Back in 1982, I was 12 years old and in year 6 Primary School.

School was brutal on me, didn't have many friends and was constantly bored.
I drove my parents up the wall and to save grace(aka - to stop my poor mum from killing me), got sent to my Nan's most weekends.

One thing i remember about my Nans house, It was on top of a hill and I could see Campbelltown lit up at night from my bedroom window.
I loved going to my Nans, She just got me, understood what i was feeling and let me wonder. to do my own thing.
The back yard was huge with an outside toilet (That no-one ever used) but surrounded by bush so its made it even more creepy.

The big movie from 1982 was E.T. This movie had a big impact on me, mostly because i had the exact hoodie as Elliot, same colour, style, everything...

I even left smarties on the back steps, in case an alien came by... Except no alien did and my Nan nearly fell down the back steps because someone had left smarties right where she put her foot...Not a good idea.. but hey, I was 12.. Lesson Learnt

When i wasn't at my Nans, I was next door (only when my Mum wasn't home, My dad would let me sneak next door to see my friends... "Just be home before your mother gets home" )

This Mixtape was born from two sources, My Dads Stereo and my Sisters Boombox..

I was concentrating on more rarer tracks with this tape ... Now Remastered..

1980-87 THE BIG #1s vol1 (Remastered)

Hello and Welcome Back... Good Selection Here

Released in 1987, '1980-87 The Big #1s' was a Australian Compilation available on Vinyl Record & CD thru CBS Records

This version is CD Quality, nearly all songs are from various CDs, Remastered / Auto-leveled so it sounds 'Magnifique'

The only difference will be some songs are 'Album' versions and not 'radio' versions.

Radio versions were shorter to make them fit on the album.

Also Note, older albums sometimes have Vinyl mastered singles to CD on rare occasions, It was how the record company's brought out some CDs.


** Note - This Remaster is based on the CD Version, Not The Double LP Version **

1986 - LOST HITS MIXTAPE (Remastered)

Hello and Welcome Back... 2nd Last in the Mixtape Series

Ah, 1986.. I was 16 years old and in year 10 in high school.. Yay... Right?

Actually, No..

I remember the last day of High School, walking home early with my best friend Rebecca (next door neighbor) singing "No more school, No more Books, No more Teachers Dirty Looks" and when i got home, i went swimming, ah, life was great...

A few days later it dawned on me.. Shit, I have to get a job.

And so started my working career. I got my first job at Venture. It was kinda like a K-Mart only more clothes but they did have a toy section... And guess who was in charge of the toy department?...

Me. :)

I remember i did a huge stack (like a pyramid) of Teddy Ruxpin's, took me almost 2 hours to create, Looked bloody wonderful... Was my boss impressed?.. Well, if he was, he didn't say.
Sadly it didn't last long.

I was at lunch when i heard a commotion.
A child had gone missing!!
The mother was frantic, all hysterical, shouting & crying.. poor thing.
My boss was flustered, getting worried by the minute... Salivating at the mouth

Me, i was more worried about my Teddy Ruxpin Pyramid which had seem to have lost shape... Some bloody kid had knocked it over,
I stood there looking at my creation gone wrong when suddenly, the Teddy Ruxpin pyramid (or what was left of it) started to move...
Turns out, the missing child also liked my pyramid and decided to hide in the middle part, only problem was, when he bumped a few on the inside, some outside ones fell and blocked the entrance.

The kid didn't seen fazed and was enjoying breaking apart my pyramid but i decided to take him to the front desk and he was reunited with his relieved mum.

That was the end of my pyramid building days.
When my boss found out that my Teddy Ruxpin Pyramid was to blame... well... there was alot of finger pointing and shouting and, well...Teddy Ruxpin was confined to the shelves.

A Teddy Ruxpin for those who have never seen one...

Moving On

This mixtape was recorded on my sisters boom-box.
She had a boom-box, i had a walkman but when she wasn't home, i would sneak in her room and record from the radio waiting for the bloody DJ to shut up and play music...
It was a real skill to get the full song with no talking DJ on the start or finish of the song.
