KEN DAVIS (IQ) - UNIVERSE IN TIME (Lost Hit)

Hello and welcome back.... I have been a huge fan of Ken Davis music since the late 80s.

After leaving school around 1987, I brought my first camera and ventured into the world...

During the late 80s (88-89) I traveled around several places in Sydney ( Darling Harbour, Circular Quay, Australia's Wonderland) and even World Expo 88, Brisbane QLD... Just about every weekend in Sydney, this guy surrounded by Synthesizers was belting out these songs, I loved it, so raw, so much energy...That guy behind the Synths was 'Ken Davis' and even 40 or so years later, he is still going.



Going back to 1985, Ken Davis was in a band called 'IQ' (ex The Hush) and spawned a few hits, one of those tracks was the very futuristic "Universe in Time", recorded for TV show 'Sounds' with Donny Sutherland.

PROPAGANDA - DUEL (12" & Remix Week)

Hello and welcome back... Last song for the 12" & Remix Week.
1985 hit for German outfit Propaganda with the track 'Duel', this was from their album 'A Secret Wish' and were signed to ZTT records (same as Frankie goes to Hollywood)
Duel made it to No 3 in the Italian Music charts, No21 in the UK and No30 in Germany
I love the voice in this song, sounds amazing...

Hello and welcome back... From 1987 comes this smashing track from UK band 'Pet Shop Boys'
I remember the first time i heard this track, just turned 18 and was at 'World Expo 88' in Brisbane QLD, Australia and went to my first nightclub and this song was pumping out of the speakers...
One word. Heaven.
Its a Sin made it to No1 in the music charts in 9 countrys inc UK, Sweden and Germany
Awsome...

S'EXPRESS - MANTRA FOR A STATE OF MIND (12" & Remix Week)

Hello and welcome back... Another awesome song to fire into the 12" and Remix week... UK sensation S'Express with parts 1 & 2 of 'Mantra for a state of Mind'. This song was huge in nightclubs in the late 80s.
Released in 1989, music producer 'Mark Moore' was the brain behind S'Express', using various sampling techniques mixed with Synthesizers, This music was like nothing we had heard of before..
The rare (ish) parts 1 & 2 goes for around 11 mins but gets better and better as it progresses, def recommending  listening with a good set of headphones exp towards the ending...

KYLIE MINOGUE - LOCOMOTION (12" & Remix Week)

Hello and welcome back.... This one took me ages to find, really rare version. This is the Australian Girl meets Boy Mix... I used to have this version on vinyl.
Its the Locomotion but with a male singer added as well, and then there's the Chug,Chug Chugga Chug Chug bit around 1.40 that sounds mad...

Kylie was best known as her stint in Australian TV show 'Neighbours'  as squeaky clean good girl mechanic 'Charlene Mitchell' before being signed to Mushroom records after singing 'The Locomotion' as an encore at a local football club concert.

Locomotion went to No1 in 9 country's including Australia and the U.S back in 1988....
