SHOCK - ANGEL FACE (Lost Hit)

Hello and welcome back.....I first heard this song on a special on the 'New Romantic' club scene, it was being played in a nightclub while pirate shirted party goers were strutting their stuff....
Would have loved to go to one of these clubs, I think it would have been a amazing experience.

The band 'Shock' consisted of Mime artists (Tim Dry, Barbie Wilde and Sean Crawford) which was great for that futuristic robotic look.
Also in the band were a couple of dancers (Robert Pereno, LA Richards, Karen Sparks and Carole Caplin)

The band often performed at 'The Blitz' club owned by Steve Strange (Visage) and 'Rusty Egan' (Ultravox).

Released in 1980, 'Angel Face' is a remake of 1974 song by 'The Glitter Band'

Love the 'Rawness' of this song, sounds excellent played LOUD

MARY JANE GIRLS - IN MY HOUSE (Lost Hit)

Hello and welcome back.... Before the Spice Girls there was "Mary Jane Girls"....

The four Girl group formed by music producer "Rick James", the Mary Jane Girls were originally back up singers for Rick in the 'Stone City Band'

Around the same time "Prince" was also forming a girl group called 'Vanity 6'

The Mary Jane Girls portrayed various characters that James had developed...The lineup consisting of Joanne "Jojo" McDuffie (lead vocals - aka Tough Street Chick )
Candice "Candi" Ghant (aka Glamorous Supermodel)
Kim "Maxi" Wuletich (aka - Whip-toting, Handcuff-carrying Dominatrix in black leather.)
Ann "Cheri" Bailey ( aka - Cute Valley Girl)

'In my House' was released in 1985 and made it to No 1 in the U.S dance charts...

The band released 2 albums.. Mary Jane Girls (1983) and Only Four You ( 1985).

The first album saw a No 8 in the US charts with track 'All Night Long'

Sadly by 1987 the band split after Rick had a falling out with record company 'Motown'

THE DREAM SEQUENCE - TAKE ME HOME (To the 80s) (Album Review) - Sounds like the 80s

Hello and welcome back..... I forgot I started doing album reviews so I am going to start again, with this album from electronic outfit "The Dream Sequence"

Using mostly 80s vintage synths like the Jupiter-8V, Mini-Moog & Korg Polysix just to name a few, this music would go under the banner of "Experimental Electronica"

There are 10 songs on the album starting with their most popular song "Take me Home (To the 80s)
My pick of the album would be "Take me Home" with a wicked bass arp, dreamy pad sounds from the Jupiter and little alien voices singing "Take Me Home" ... I love this.

TRACK LISTING

1. Take me Home (To the 80s)
2. Man Machine
3. 1984 (R2 remix)
4. Lets Go
5. Starion
6. Psycho Machine
7. Interplanetary Adventures
8. Night on the Galactic Railway
9. Serenity
10. Taste the Acid  (Bonus Demo track)

LISTEN / CHECK IT OUT HERE

This is the first album for Blue Mountains (Australia) music producer, has taken 2 years in the making and has a heavy influence on late 80s dance music including the acid (303) sound...

Worth Checking Out... 8/10 for me

JAN TERRI - LOSING YOU (Lost Hit)

Hello and welcome back....Just outside the 80s came this song
Snappy camera work, swinging lyrics and Love...Lots of Love.

This video came out in 1993 under the banner "Worst Music Video Ever" but I like It (is that wrong?)

Jan Terri (Real Name - Janice Spagnolia) is from Chicago, Illinois in the U.S
Losing You is her first song and goes to show you, anyone can get into music if your hearts into it...

There's some pretty cruel comments on the YouTube page but as I say, You do better..At least she's giving it a go (This song has managed to rack up 3.3 million views) and she later performed at party's with 90s icon Marilyn Manson

Good on ya Terri,

KOTO - CROCKETT'S THEME

Hello and welcome back.... I have been a big fan of "Crockett's theme" since I heard it on Miami Vice (Jan Hammer) sometime in the 80s....
This version is from Space Synth outfit "Koto", sounding smooth and lush... Just like a mid summers night in cool satin sheets...

Enjoy
