GERARD McMANN ( G Tom Mac) - CRY LITTLE SISTER (Theme from The Lost Boys)

Hello and welcome back....Such an awesome song (and movie), the theme song for the 1987 Vampire movie "The Lost Boys".
Sung by U.K. singer / songwriter Gerard McMann (a.k.a. G Tom Mac), this single made it to No 15 on the billboard music charts...Sadly, it did not chart in the U.S ???

MIXTAPE 22 SIDE B (music downloads)

Hello and welcome back.....Side B of Mixtape 22, some classic songs with a hint of nostalgia.

DOWNLOAD / LISTEN HERE

TRACK LIST
1 = Divine - You think your a Man (12" remix)
2 = Pseudo Echo - Walk Away
3 = Simple Minds - New Gold Dream
4 = Sinead O'Connor - Mandinka (remix)
5 = World Party - Ship of Fools
6 = The Venetians - So much for Love
7 = The Beatmasters - Rok Da House
8 = Dan Lacksman (Telex) - Stay with Me

No intro on this one, just pure music in a tape.

On a personal note, track 8 was the first tape I ever owned, as an 8yo boy, Christmas 1978, I was given a tape called "The Electronic System" by my parents.
Dan Lacksman was the composer and played mostly Moog Synthesizers. Dan later went on to form the Belgian band Telex (think Moskow Diskow)
That tape is what started my passion for synthesizers (I still own it today :))...Its a bit chewed.

Enjoy

MARQUESE "NONSTOP" SCOTT

Hello and welcome back....Remember the breakdance scenes of the mid 80s, made famous with movies like "Breakin 1984 & Breakdance".... (watch "breakin 1984" HERE)....

Well, like everything excellent about the 80s, its coming back (been back for a while :) ), now known as "Dubstep"

(Pictured right) is a U.S. dubstep dancer named "Marquese "Nonstop" Scott

His moves remind me of the mid 80s breakin (Break dancing) scene which is where Marquese studied and watched artists like "Flat Top" & "Turbo" (Boogaloo shrimp)  dance moves.

This artist is mesmerizing to watch and an incredible talent.

MIKE OLDFIELD - MOONLIGHT SHADOW (Lost Hit)

Hello and welcome back.....I heard this song today in a secondhand bookshop, such an excellent
song. Features the amazing voice of Scottish singer Maggie Reilly...
Released in 1983, Moonlight Shadow was from the album "Crisis" and it made it to No1 on the music charts in Europe, No4 in the U.K. & No 6 in Australia.
It has been rumored that this song was in reference to the shooting of John Lennon, something Mike Oldfield has either confirmed or denied.

THE DREAM SEQUENCE - 1984 - R2 Remix

Hello and welcome back....No, your not seeing double....this is a remix of the song "1984".
After the original, I felt it lacked something (I'm my own worse critic)....so I tweaked it a little (added more Bass synth)... boosted the BPM to 130 (was 125), got rid of the lyrics (I felt it was not as good as it originally sounded) and added a little.....R2D2 (hence the name R2 Remix...work with me here :))....works well, I'm happy with it.
Let me know what you think.
