STRANGE TALK - CAST AWAY (sounds like the 80s)

Hello and welcome back......The first thing that got my attention was the artwork for this album by the band "Strange Talk"..... It looked so 80s, think Alan Parsons Project.
Then I listened to this song called "Cast Away" and if you like Cut Copy, you will like this band, they sound very simular.
Hailing from Melbourne, Australia, I admit I had never heard from this band before, (Found their CD at my local library)......Its very, very good.
Another song that is catchy is the song "Falling in Love"..... Have a listen, see what you think. :)
P.S  = the song "Cast Away" is featured on the game NFS (Need For Speed) Most Wanted.

Hello and welcome back...... New york band, "My Daughters Wedding" chose their band name from a
section in a greeting cards section...Neat.
Released around 1981 "Lawn Chairs" was a fair hit reaching position 49 on the U.K record charts.
For me this band sounds similar to Australian band Meo245..... Brilliant sound, Enjoy

Hello and welcome back.... Sisters, Melanie & Kim Appleby (Mel & Kim) were one of the biggest pop sensations in the late 80s.

Under the guidance of SAW (Stock, Aitken & Waterman) they released the album F.L.M. with several singles including "Showing Out (Get Fresh at the Weekend)", "Respectable" and "F.L.M."..... they also had a small hit with the song "I'm the one who really loves you", while being popular in dance clubs.

Sadly in January 1990 Melanie died of pneumonia at the age of 23.

The thing that I like about Mel & Kim apart from the catchy music, is what you seen, is what you got, after watching a documentary about them, they were basically 2 fun loving gals having a good time and enjoying the music.

The way music is supposed to be....Enjoy

CUT COPY - HEARTS ON FIRE (Sounds Like The 80s)

Hello and welcome back.....If ever a band had that 80s sound, it would be this band...Australian band "Cut Copy" sounds amazingly like New Order (well, it does to me, what do you think?).
The video I have chosen I saw a while ago, It was shot live in Austin City....then suddenly it was gone (thanks youtube)..... Now a new version has sprung up and it showcases how electronic bands should sound live (not just in a studio).....Play it loud, its sounds superb.

ALISON MOYET - WHEN I WAS YOUR GIRL (New Music)

Hello and welcome back......Due for release back in Feb 2012, Alison Moyet's ( Yazoo, Yaz) new album "The Minutes" was put on hold, Change record company, and now due for release on 6th May (U.K) - 11 June (U.S) 2013.

"When I was Your Girl" is the new single from this album and was released in April 2013.... It also features Alison's daughter in the video.

Its great to hear Alison's remarkable voice that time has not changed..... although the song has a dark undertone, not like anything Yazoo or Alison's earlier work, she has matured and it shows in her music giving her a more raw sound.....I like it, It suits her.

Awesome song, welcome back Alison.
