JOHN WAITE - MISSING YOU (lost hit)

Hello and welcome back....I still remember when I first heard this song, I had received a AIWA Walkman for Christmas in 1984, It was one of the most memorable moments in my life....The first introduction to stereo music and this song made it so much better.
English singer John Waite was also a singer in the band "Bad English" (think "When I see you Smile"),he was also in the 70s band "The Babys"
John Waite is a extremely talented singer and has released 10 solo albums
The song "Missing you" went to No1 in the US music charts and was one of those songs that you could sing to, I love this song.

They don't make songs like this anymore.

HEAR THIS

Hello and welcome back..... Look how chunky our sound systems were back in 1989, this advertisement was from a Brashes music store magazine. Also pictured is a 6 stack CD player both from Pioneer.....so Primitive.

ICEHOUSE - WHATS BEHIND A SONG?

Hello and welcome back..... Often a song is written because of love, love problems or an experience in life.
I find this information interesting because it gives you an idea about how a band first started, other band members and where they came from (including other bands) and problems that cropped up.
I love the band Icehouse, they were one of the first bands to use a Fairlight Synthersizer, but how did they get their name.... They used to be called "Flowers".
I found this article in a magazine back in 1989 from Brashes, a music store similar to HMV and Virgin. A very interesting story
Enjoy.

LATEST NEWS

Hello and welcome back..... PETE BURNS BACK IN THE STUDIO WITH PETE WATERMAN.
This is what hit my inbox this morning.... This is excellent news, being a massive fan of Pete Burns (from the band "Dead or Alive") and Pete Waterman (Producer from SAW - Stock Aitken & Waterman),There is talk of a new album from Dead Or Alive, Well,  It seems to look like it. Am I Excited?... Hell yes

Taken from Officialcharts.com =

Dead Or Alive frontman recording new material with legendary producer who helped launch his career.

Dead Or Alive frontman Pete Burns returned to the studio yesterday (February 14) to begin work on new material with producer Pete Waterman. It is the first time the pair have worked together since Dead Or Alive’s 1987 album Mad, Bad, And Dangerous To Know.
Waterman, who was part of legendary hit-making production team Stock Aitken Waterman, helped launch Dead Or Alive’s career, producing their 1984 Official Number 1 single You Spin Me Round (Like a Record).
It is thought the pair rekindled their friendship when Dead Or Alive reformed to play Hit Factory Live - a celebration of 25 years of Pete Waterman’s record label, PWL – at London’s O2 Arena in December of last year.

Massive thank you to Pete Burns, Pete Waterman & officialcharts.com for the photos.

Pete Burns also opened a Twitter Account Yesterday = https://twitter.com/PeteBurns2013

Yesterday Pete Waterman tweeted (in regards to Pete Burns) = once a genius, always a genius... and like Dali's cat, he still knows how to miaow!

Excellent News for electronic80s fans.

INDECENT OBSESSION

Hello and welcome back......Formed in 1987, Australian band Indecent Obsession had a few hits in the late 80s.
Those hits were "Say Goodbye" and "Tell Me Something" and came out around 1989.
Fronted by David Dixon on vocals, this band sounded and looked pretty good. (so my Girlfriend at that time kept telling me, then she would give me a funny look and walk away)
Other band members included Andrew Coyne (guitars), Michael Szumowski (Synths) & Daryl Sims (drums).

David is also a Actor and has done a stint in the Australian TV series Home & Away.(Nathan Roberts).
David now flies Helicopters for a living for Air Ambulance.

For me, I loved their music. It was upbeat and synth driven with smooth vocals.
Another song that caught my attention was called "Kiss Me" (from the 1992 album Indigo), It was just after this album that David left the band.

SAY GOODBYE

TELL ME SOMETHING

KISS ME
