LAURA BRANIGAN - SPANISH EDDIE

Hello and welcome back.....From the Album "Hold Me", Spanish Eddie was the first single to grace our ears back in 1985. This was Laura Branigan's sixth top 40 hit in the music charts.
So the question remains... who was Spanish Eddie?
A quote from Songfacts.com say =   This song was rumored to be about Spanish Eddie Vincente of the YSA's Bronx gang crisis squad and his failed attempt to broker a city-wide gang truce beginning with the Hoe Avenue peace meeting in 1971.

Sadly Laura is no longer with us, She died in her sleep in August 2004 of a previously undiagnosed cerebral aneurysm. Her ashes were scattered over Long Island South.... She was only 47 years old.

GRACE JONES

Hello and welcome back.......Born in Jamaica, Grace Jones ( Grace Mendoza) started as a Model before becoming an Actress and Singer.

Her talent and striking looks got her a record deal and various acting roles including a James Bond movie "A View to a Kill".

For me personally, I love Grace Jones.... Her look is awesome with the flat top ( I had a flat top once) making her stand out from other singers at that time.
Grace often mixes fashion with modeling....Yes folks, she has style
Her music is often suited for Clubs with luscious beats and that voice, what a Voice..... Smooth and focused. Outstanding.

Grace Jones has released about 10 albums and a slather of singles.
Some of my favorite singles from Grace are "Private life", "I've Seen that Face Before", "Pull up to the Bumper", "Slave to the Rhythm" &... "Walking in the Rain" which is my stand out song with sultry synths and a singing style that leaves you with chills.

Grace Jones has once quoted = Now when I enter a carriage, it almost empties. But there's always one brave enough to stay.

What an amazing artist.
