EUROPE - final countdown

Hello and welcome back....I can still remember (just) when I first heard this song, I was in my makeshift cubby house which was a bird avery that I  had put wooden posts around the outside for privacy, but it also had a radio setup and a padlock to keep undesirables out (sister).
While listening to Triple M Sydney around 1987 I heard this synth sound that was like.. da da da daaa, WOW.. I like this but my little transistor radio didn't do it justice so I ran inside and beged my dad to put on his several thousand dollar stereo (his pride & joy) and I was in heaven.. What a song.
Even to this day when I hear "The Final Countdown " it takes me back to my little shed/bird avery/mancave on a hot summers day in 1987.. Magic.

Hello and welcome back.... As requested by Anonymous, a classic sound by "Koo De Tah" that, once again is given the 12" treatment.
Sadly a mp3 download in not available for this song...BUT.. you can use a program called "Free youtube to MP3" = CLICK HERE and cut and copy the web page address into this program = web page address

NEW ORDER - world in motion (lost hit)

Hello and welcome back... Released for England's 1990 FIFA World cup campain, World in motion was New Orders only No1UK single.
World in motion was originally going to be called "E for England" but due to the worries from the football association that E stood for the drug ecstasy, the band decided that World in Motion was a better choice.
This is an excellent song that sadly is not heard of anymore... Thank goodness for Youtube.

The new single called "Suddenly Silently" and is now available on I-Tunes

Its Pseudo Echo as we love them with Brian Canham's voice as smooth as silk while the synths & guitars do the song justice (and a return of the electric drums)
So.. what do I think, Being a huge fan of "Pseudo Echo" fan, I love it, sounds so much like Autumnal Park... which in my opinion, one of the best albums of the 80s

Hello and welcome back... First there was Queen, then came Prince, later came Princess... and then there was King, Love and pride King... You know "Paul King"
This single came out around 1984 and I must say, it was a very catchy tune, so much so..I went and brought the 12" single on vinyl when it was released.
This song made it to no 55 on the U.S music charts.
So in a nutshell that's the royal family...kind of.

MARIANNE FAITHFULL - the ballad of lucy jordan ( lost hit )

Hello and welcome back... Best know for her relationship with Mick Jagger, Marianne Faithfull has a voice like no other.
Its a blend of haunting but yet raucous, due to substance abuse and laryngitis.

 I think it gives her an edge otherwise it would sound just like every other ballad, its a unique gift.

Marianne also did a slather of movies in the 60s/ 70s including "The Girl on the Motorcycle" a personal favorite of mine, not the fact that she is naked under her leather outfit but its freedom at its best ( getting away from it all) while tripping on LSD... Sadly she does a tango with a truck and I don't think she came off too good in the end.

I love this song, so smooth, dreamy but raw at the same time.

A stunning song from a multi-talented artist.
