HOWARD JONES
Hello and welcome back... John Howard Jones ( aka Howard Jones) is possibly one of the best synthesizer artists to come out of the 80s.
Born in Hampshire, England "Howard Jones" is a musician, singer and songwriter and was noted as a heavy user of the Roland Jupiter-8 and the Moog Prodigy synth's, Howard often stood beside bands like "OMD" and "China Crisis"
Howard Jones has released 10 albums to date and a slather of singles. Songs that I like are "What is Love","Pearl in the Shell", "New Song","Like to Get to Know you Well", "Things Can Only Get Better", 'Life In One Day" and "The Prisoner".
My favorite song would be "Hide And Seek", Its a haunting sublime song that sounds amazing.
For me, Howard Jones music always seemed to be ahead of technology with bright new sounds but not letting it drown his singing style.
Recently (2010 - 11) Howard released re-mastered albums "Humans Lib", "Dream Into Action", "The 12" Album" and "Action Replay"
Howard Jones is a talented gifted artist that was a pioneer of the Electronic 80s.
WHAT IS LOVE
PEARL IN THE SHELL
NEW SONG
LIKE TO GET TO KNOW YOU WELL
THINGS CAN ONLY GET BETTER
LIFE IN ONE DAY
THE PRISONER
HIDE AND SEEK (breathtaking)
Massive thanks to Howardjones.com and other artists for the videos and photos.

PLASTIC BERTRAND - ca plane pour moi ( lost hit )
Hello and welcome back...Just outside the 80s was this strange song.
Sang by Belgian musician Roger Allen Francois Jouret ( aka Plastic Bertrand ) in 1978.
He started his career in music as a drummer in the band "The Bisons" playing Rolling Stone covers.
O.k here's the bad news, Plastic Bertrand didn't actually sing this, The song "Ca Plane Pour Moi" was recorded in a studio and was sung and produced by Lou Deprijck.
For his efforts "Plastic Bertrand" received only 0.5% of the song royalties (Milli Vanilli anyone )...Still its a great song and even better when had one too many to drink and you try to sing the lyrics...English translation is interesting... goes something like "Wham Bam my Splash Cat", least everyone knows the chorus... Oooo-ooo-ooo-ooo
PLASTIC BERTRAND - ca plane pour moi
LYRICS TRANSLATED (yes, its real) .. taken from spicks and specks TV show..many thanks

CULTURE CLUB
Hello and welcome back... Culture Club were formed in the "New Romantic" era in the 80s and hailed from the U.K.
The band is fronted by Boy George (George Alan O'Dowd- vocals) with Mikey Craig (bass guitar), Roy Hay (guitar, synths) and Jon Moss (drums).
Their music is classed as New Wave meets Soul with Jamaican Reggae.
Culture Club has released several platinum albums including "Kissing to be Clever"(1982), "Colour by Numbers"(1983) and "Waking up with the house on fire"(1984).
For me Culture club were a band that mainly girls listened to back in the 80s, as my girlfriend at the time would explain "Boy George was Gorgeous"... I failed see it, as some dude in lipstick and strange clothes was prancing around singing like a girl but then, that was the 80s.
Culture Club had a slather of singles including "Karma Chameleon","Church of the Poison Mind", "Victims", "Miss Me Blind", "Its A Miracle", "The War Song", and "God Thank You Woman". My favourite song would be "Do You Really Want To Hurt Me"... Its a catchy song that I sometimes sing to in front of my wife... And she replies Yes, she does... should I be worried?
DO YOU REALLY WANT TO HURT ME
KARMA CHAMELEON
CHURCH OF THE POISON MIND
VICTIMS
MISS ME BLIND
ITS A MIRACLE
THE WAR SONG
GOD THANK YOU WOMAN (loving this song)
Found this interesting... LIVING WITH BOY GEORGE PART 1
LIVING WITH BOY GEORGE PART 2
LIVING WITH BOY GEORGE PART 3
LIVING WITH BOY GEORGE PART 4
LIVING WITH BOY GEORGE PART 5

BEARGARDEN - i write the news (lost hit)
Hello and welcome back... O.K back to the music.
Beargarden were a Melbourne band from Australia and were often a back up to gig to INXS live shows and went under the banner of "New Wave".
The band was fronted by Sam Sejavka (vocals) with Mick Lewis (guitar), Carl Manuell (drums) and Gus Till ( synths)
Mick Lewis was later replaced by Shane Andalou.
Gus Till also played in the band "The Models".
I first heard this band after buying a compilation tape in 1985 which had this excellent song on it called 1985 ON FIRE.
Beargarden released 2 albums called "all that fall"( 1985) and recently " The Word That Refers To The Word That Refers to Walt Disney" (2010)
Beargarden was often on the aussie show "countdown" with Molly Meldrum.
Other songs by this band were "the finer things" and "drink, drink, drink"
An excellent "lost" Australian band.
I WRITE THE NEWS
THE FINER THINGS
