1988 - LOST HITS MIXTAPE (Re-Recorded FLAC EX)

Hello and Welcome Back... Re-Recorded / Mastered for the Original Master Tape and Available in FLAC EXpanded Frequency Format... Soundz Moist

The year was 1988 and I had turned 18, Time to spread my wings..

The first part was amazing, for the first time, I traveled by myself (well, it was a tour group) to World Expo 88 in Brisbane, QLD

That's where this Mixtape started to take shape. You see, i had a AIWA Walkman (HS-J15) that could record from the radio which was excellent.. and sound quality was amazing

Around the middle of 1988, caught a extremely long diesel train from Central, Sydney to Murwillumbah, near the Qld border...
During the overnight trip, I sunk 2 beers (i was 18 now) and for desert, i ate a big bowl of ice cream (first time on my own) YAY... Big Mistake, It made me Sooooo Sick.... Constant shunting of the train was like being in a blender (well, it felt like it)
When i wasn't throwing up down the side of the train, i was recording this tape.

World Expo 88 was amazing, each pavilion was a journey to another part of the world, from real snowfields from Switzerland to a tiny laser man walking around a village in Japan.

World Expo was the only place where in one day you could ride in in a Helicopter, Hovercraft, Monorail & chat to K.I.T.T. from Knight Rider all in one day.

World Expo By Air

The second part of 1988 was not good..

I got fired from my job.

I loved this job, i learned so much from this place.
That place was B.P Service Station in Campbelltown, NSW

How did i get sacked?

It was a simple misunderstanding.
In passing, i called my boss a silly old bastard... Who Hasn't, Who Hasn't...
I meant no disrespect.. if anything, he was a lovable, silly old bastard... A really nice bloke who taught me so many things about life.
But, word got back to him, all twisted and made to sound vicious.. I tried to explain but I was caught off guard... and he sacked me.

I Was Shattered...

The last part of 1988 was the 3.30am starts at my new job building air conditioners at Dricon / Diamond Air in Enfield, NSW
Another job i loved until.... See 1989 post

Moving On

This Mixtape was mostly recorded on my Walkman from various radio stations around NSW as I traveled from Sydney to Queensland
Some really good tracks, some rarish in nature... Take a listen.
