Hello and welcome back... Bronski Beat were a synth-pop band from the U.K and consisted of lead vocals from "Jimmy Somerville" with Steve Bronski and Larry Steinbachek playing synths and percussion.
All band members were openly gay and their songs often reflected this and other homophobic issues.
The vocal range for Jimmy Somerville is amazing, I mean absolutely incredible.
I first heard of this band around 1984 when the song "Why" was blasted from the radio, what a song... Heavy synths and a incredible voice from Jimmy.
Other songs I liked are "Smalltown boy" and "I feel love"(a duet with Marc Almond from the band "Soft Cell") and was from the album "The Age Of Consent".
Around 1986 Jimmy left the band and was replaced by John Foster.
The band released the album "Truthdare Doubledare" and the single "Hit that Perfect Beat" was born.
In 1985 a remix album called "Hundreds & Thousands" was released and the single "run from love" was set free.
After Jimmy left Bronski Beat he teamed up with Richard Coles and formed "The Communards".
Albums Released by The Communards are a self titled album (communards) and the album "Red".
Songs i like from this band are "Don't Leave me this Way", "Disenchanted","Tomorrow" and "Never can say Goodbye"
In 1988 Jimmy left the Communards for a solo career.
Richard went on to be a Vicar in Northamtonshire U.K following a religious path.
