ELECTRONIC DRUM KITS - 80s STYLE
Bands like Pseudo Echo, Real Life, Naked Eyes, Kajagoogoo, Talk Talk & Thompson Twins used drum kits sometime in their career.
Even more hard rock bands like Def Leppard used a modified Simmons Drum kit on the Hysteria album after their drummer (Rick Allen) lost his arm in a car accident.
Most drum kits consists of various rubber pads that send a signal to a electronic module that can change the sound.
Below, The band Koo De Tah used a Electronic drum kit to give that amazing 80s sound
Love this band :)
The first drum kit was used by the band The Moody Blues and quickly caught on, soon other bands in the late 70s - early 80s started using drum kits.
The first successful brand of drum machine was made by Simmons which made the SDS-5 (SDSV), it was released in 1981.
Early bands like Spandau Ballet and Duran Duran couldn't get enough of that dzzshhh dzzshhh sound that made a drum machine so distinctive.
Soon, other brands caught on with Roland and Yamaha making various drum kits.
Newer drum kits replaced the rubber pads with metal mesh pads for a funkier new sound.
So in this post....Electronic80s salutes The Electronic Drum Kit.
