BAD BOYS BLUE - COME BACK AND STAY ( lost hit )

Hello and welcome back... A few posts back I mentioned about a tape that got cooked in my tapedeck after leaving it in the sun, one of the songs on this tape was Tracy Spencer, an amazing Italo disco song that I just love....
I have found another song from this tape....Must thank Radio Polskie - 80s & Italo disco for playing "Bad Boy Blue - Come Back and Stay".
All I could remember from this song was the flute sound (similar to the koo de tah band) and the "Oh Baby" in the middle of the song and that it was released around 1987.
Turns out, that in 2009 they re-released this song with a more punchy dance beat and synth riffs (how did i miss this? )... Was I asleep? ... This is an excellent song. Enjoy

Come Back and Stay  ( 1987 )

Come Back And Stay  ( 2009 )

Sadly the one of the original singers in 1987 ( Trevor Taylor ) died of a heart attack in 2008 in Germany

Also original backup singer in 2009 ( Andrew Thomas ) also died in Germany

Only one original member of Bad Boy Blue remains ( John McInerney )

R.I.P. GREG HAM / MEN AT WORK

Hello and welcome back...Greg Ham was one of the band members of "Men At Work", An Australian band famous for the song "Down Under".
Greg was the flute player but also played synths, sax and occasional vocals.
Men at Work was a band I grew up with with constant airplay on radio and also on "Countdown", a music show on Australian television
Greg died in his home in Melbourne... May his music live on forever. R.I.P.

KOO DE TAH - body talk ( Classic 12 Inches )

Hello and welcome back....Possibly one of my most favourite bands of the 80s and it just got better with this song.
"Body Talk" came out in 1986 of the "Koo De Tah" self titled album.
Love how certain 12" versions keep to the song but changes it slightly for the better, this is one of those songs (some just sound the same as the original song, but longer).. Enjoy.

KOO DE TAH  - Body Talk

TIFFANY - think we're alone now (Classic 12 Inches)

Hello and welcome back...Brilliant song that I never get sick of listening to. This song came out in 1987 and went straight to no1 on the music charts.
Love how this 12" version seems to bring out the synths a bit more as the bass is pumping and even has the occasional cricket noise.... Now, I'm in heaven.

TIFFANY - think we're alone now

WANG CHUNG - Dance Hall Days ( Classic 12 Inches )

Hello and welcome back.... Love this version of "Wang Chung" - Dance hall days, It makes a good song sound even better (have you ever noticed that all the good songs don't seem to go long enough?)

BOLERO MIX 4 1988

Hello and welcome back.... Some things in life I dread, like at the moment my house is upside down because it is being painted (I'm using my wifes laptop,my desktop in in pieces).. But it also has a good side, I get to spring clean and find lots of things I  thought I'd lost... This is one of those times.Tucked at the back of my cupbourd was a bag of tapes (covered in dust) that i haden't seen in years and it had some rare stuff that iv'e collected.
In this bag was my tape of Bolero mix 4.
Bolero mix 4 was one of the first tapes I had brought after hearing it being pumped out in a record store in Sydney (Central Station Records).
Its albums like this that I found out about bands like "Fancy, Clubhouse, Boytronic and FPI Project... and its great for parties as it keeps to a constant beat.
The front covers were always well done with half man/half machine or something simular.

You will also find that there will be more Australian music in these Mixtapes (2-3 songs, not a bad thing) as I will be using them for a upcoming radio program I will be doing (fingers crossed)... Cheers

SANDY MARTON - exotic & erotic (lost hit)

Hello and welcome back... looking like a cross between Fabio and George Michael (well, I think so), Sandy Marton sings this ditty about being exotic & erotic while playing a mean synth, meanwhile a women in lingerie is blowing kisses and stroking a puppy who looks like he wants to be somewhere else, all that in one video... What more could you ask for.

SANDY MARTON - exotic & erotic

TRACY SPENCER - run to me (lost hit)

Hello and welcome back...Italo disco at its best.
I thought I would never hear this song again, you see, the tape that I had back in 1988 that had this song on it, got left in my tapedeck in my car and it sort of melted (warped)by the summer sun, by the time I got it out it was ruined and beyond repair.

Looking for another song on youtube I was amazed to hear it again, an excellent song with a killer vibe.. Love it to bits and takes me back to some good times.. Enjoy

BILLY OCEAN - loverboy ( Classic 12 Inches )

Hello and welcome back... A new segment called Classic 12 Inches where good songs were given the 12 inch treatment and turned into something amazing.
This first song from Billy Ocean I owned on vinyl and it sounded incredible especially towards the middle and end, the effects sound like a car trying to start.. Brilliant.....CLICK HERE to download "Loverboy" and more from my Mixtape series

ADAM ANT

Hello and welcome back...Stuart Leslie Goddard aka "Adam Ant" ( not to be confused with Atom Ant ) was once voted sexiest man in America.

Stuart was born in Marylebone London and while attending primary school Stuart was making a name for himself, after he landed a brick through the principle's office, he was placed under the supervision of a teacher by the name of "Joanna Saloman".

This teacher taught him to turn his talents into something better introducing him to the Arts.

While in college Stuart married former student "Carol Mills" and things started to go downhill.
Stuart was battling anorexia and even tried to kill himself, while overdosing on any pills he could find. This was a dark time for Stuart, but after being released from a mental hospital he decided to turn his life around.
At 21 he was diagnosed with bi-polar disorder.

And so, Adam Ant was born.

Adam teamed up with "Marco Pirroni", "Kevin Mooney" and "Chris Hughes"(aka Merrick) to form "the Ants".

Adam and the Ants lasted until 1982 then went separate ways with Adam going solo.

For me Adam ant was in the best part of music scene know as "New Romantic" era, but his music was not heavily synth based as other bands.
He captured my interest with the attention to detail, not only was it his fashion stance with large pirate shirts, face paint and hair twiggy bits but his music videos were often a small movie showing off his acting ability as well as music talent.
My favourite songs from "Adam Ant" are "Antmusic", "Stand and deliver", "Prince Charming", Goody Two Shoes"; "Puss In Boots" and "Strip".

Adam has a new album to be released in July 2012 called ( wait for it ) = Adam Ant is the Blueblack Hussar in Marrying the Gunner's Daughter.

Great to see Adam back doing what he does best. Cheers
