HIT PACK COMPILATION - virgin records ( lost tape)

Hello and welcome back.... I can't believe i found this tape, while cleaning a bedside drawer i found one of my most favourite tapes from the 80s.
What made this tape so special i hear you ask?
First, the cleaver people at Virgin records sold this tape disguised as a chocolate bar... What a brilliant idea.
Secondly it had some wicked songs on it, I nearly wore out my AIWA walkman listening to it.
And lastly, the songs were special dance mixes of some of the best songs from 1985.
Unfortunately, my tape has seen better days but i refuse to throw it out, for sentimental reasons...you understand don't you?

I have tried to keep the same remixes so it sounds the same ( or close to it )

BRONSKI BEAT / THE COMMUNARDS

Hello and welcome back... Bronski Beat were a synth-pop band from the U.K and consisted of lead vocals from "Jimmy Somerville" with Steve Bronski and Larry Steinbachek playing synths and percussion.
All band members were openly gay and their songs often reflected this and other homophobic issues.

The vocal range for Jimmy Somerville is amazing, I mean absolutely incredible.
I first heard of this band around 1984 when the song "Why" was blasted from the radio, what a song... Heavy synths and a incredible voice from Jimmy.
Other songs I liked are "Smalltown boy" and "I feel love"(a duet with Marc Almond from the band "Soft Cell") and was from the album "The Age Of Consent".
Around 1986 Jimmy left the band and was replaced by John Foster.
The band released the album "Truthdare Doubledare" and the single "Hit that Perfect Beat" was born.

In 1985 a remix album called "Hundreds & Thousands" was released and the single "run from love" was set free.

After Jimmy left Bronski Beat he teamed up with Richard Coles and formed "The Communards".
Albums Released by The Communards are a self titled album (communards) and the album "Red".
Songs i like from this band are "Don't Leave me this Way", "Disenchanted","Tomorrow" and "Never can say Goodbye"

In 1988 Jimmy left the Communards for a solo career.
Richard went on to be a Vicar in Northamtonshire U.K following a religious path.

HOWARD JONES

Hello and welcome back... John Howard Jones ( aka Howard Jones) is possibly one of the best synthesizer artists to come out of the 80s.
Born in Hampshire, England "Howard Jones" is a musician, singer and songwriter and was noted as a heavy user of the Roland Jupiter-8 and the Moog Prodigy synth's, Howard often stood beside bands like "OMD" and "China Crisis"

Howard Jones has released 10 albums to date and a slather of singles. Songs that I like are "What is Love","Pearl in the Shell", "New Song","Like to Get to Know you Well", "Things Can Only Get Better", 'Life In One Day" and "The Prisoner".
My favorite song would be "Hide And Seek", Its a haunting sublime song that sounds amazing.

For me, Howard Jones music always seemed to be ahead of technology with bright new sounds but not letting it drown his singing style.
Recently (2010 - 11) Howard released re-mastered albums "Humans Lib", "Dream Into Action", "The 12" Album" and "Action Replay"
Howard Jones is a talented gifted artist that was a pioneer of the Electronic 80s.
